Responsibilities

  2. Student facilitator
  3. Day-to-day operations
  4. Space and camera booking
  5. Transportation

Felipe Lomeli reads an excerpt of his short story “No le voy a hacer la majadería”, in the gardens of Tec de Monterrey (2020).

TXT is an international multidisciplinary project originating in Montevideo, Uruguay. The second edition took place in Mexico City and this third edition in Monterrey, the iconic industrial metropolis in the north of Mexico.

Twelve authors were invited to read snippets of their own stories, which are set in different times and spots of the city. Twelve prominent spaces and monuments where selected to be the background of their heartfelt readings.

MTYTXT was the first edition comprised of a 100% student-run production and post-production team, with students from the Hispanic Literature (LLE), Communication and Digital Media (LCMD), and Music and Digital Production (IMI) programs.

Memorabilia, exhibitions and online archive for the 60th anniversary of the Literature Major at Tec de Monterrey.
Tec de Monterrey is one of the most prestigious universities in Latin America. And its Hispanic Literature program is one of the longest-running programs. In 2018 we turned 60, and we proposed to go all out by organizing a series of events to celebrate together. All generations of alumni were invited to participate and share their experiences through talks, exhibitions and a dinner party.

It had been four years since I last organized such a large event, as logistics coordinator for the fifth Vox Orbis literary conference. But just like that time, I had the invaluable support of my team. María1 provided Carolina2 and me with contacts and her vision for the event, which greatly helped guide us in terms of materials, design, and budget.

I maintained contact and information flow with the speakers, alumni attendees, and students, as well as the graphic design for the invitations, the timeline, and the promotional materials for the event. Caro handled the catering, space and furniture reservations, gift bags, and equipment arrangements. We found a provider who could supply us with personalized notebooks, as we needed handcrafted goodies for the bags. During the event, we were assisted with registration by the students of the Literary Student Association, as well as volunteer students and teachers.

One of my greatest satisfactions was setting up the 60th anniversary commemorative site. It preserves a memory not only of the event but also of the photos that all the alumni and students sent with great pride and nostalgia.

3.    PLANNING AND DESIGN AT PODIMO
  1. Project templates in Notion
  2. Event timelines, budgeting and internal communication
  3. In touch with providers for catering, printing and goodies
  4. Scheduling, brainstorming
  5. Overview checklists
Podimo is a subscription-based podcasting and audiobook service available across Europe and Latin America. Many internal events are hosted in their Copenhagen headquarters, and I have been part of the BTS work to bring fun to my colleagues.

I have been part of event committees for:
  • Their 5th anniversary party in 2024
  • Brand and Creative’s 2024 CREACON internal event for their brand designers
  • Their 2023 Summer Party in Copenhagen

In each of them I have helped brainstorm timelines and potential risks and elements to consider during initial kick-off meetings. I have gathered information from guests in order to bounce ideas around what sort of talks and activities would be preferred by our attendees, and I have created Notion templates for parties and gatherings.
